when I grow up…

26 Jan

I am not a writer by any means.  Not even close.  In fact when I was little, I wanted to be a writer or something that allowed me to be creative when I grew up…but my skill levels always gravitated towards math.  Yes, I love math, numbers, and figuring out problems, but I am not sure I would want to do that as a career.  So where does that leave me?  It leaves me longing for skills that include writing and art.  But I am grateful for blogs.  And even though some of the blogs leave me feeling like a failure at writing because they are so good, I am still grateful that anyone can have a blog.  Anyone can share their stories, significant or not.  Anyone can write.

Isn’t it the same with God?  No matter what, we can come to Him.  No matter what the world tells us we are capable of, we are capable of so much more.  And what’s so much more perfect than that, is that God has a plan for each one of us.  An individual plan.  It’s not like a pre-made mold that we have to fit into.  It’s a plan that’s detailed and thought out.  It’s a plan made perfect for each of us.

My dreams may be big.   They may be out of reach.   But you know what?  They are my plans.  God’s plans for me may be big.  And I may be unqualified.  But you know what?  They are His plans.  And when they are His plans, there is nothing I can’t do.

Jeremiah 29:11 (New Living Translation)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
